Saturday, All ages Warm Up: 9:30 – 10:20 AM, Start: 10:30 AM Sunday, 12 & Under, Warm Up: 9:30 – 10:20 AM, Start: 10:30 AM Sunday 13 & Over, Warm Up: 2:00 – 2:50 PM, Start: 3:00 PM |
ELIGIBILITY: |
Open to all Potomac Valley registered athletes. EVENTS 200 YARDS OR MORE MAY REQUIRE POSITIVE CHECK-IN. |
RULES: |
Current USA Swimming rules shall govern the meet. There are NO QT's. Athletes who do not check in will be scratched. Athletes who check in and do not swim will be scratched from their next event. Swimmers may enter no more than four events per session. If the meet is larger than expected, the sessions will be run dual course. Dive-over starts may be used at this meet at the discretion of the Meet Manager and/or Meet Referee. Coaches are requested to review Guidance for Dive-Over Starts for Coaches. Officials are requested to review Protocol for Dive-Over Starts. A determination whether to do so will be made shortly after entries for this meet have been processed. |
INCLUSION POLICY FOR SWIMMERS WITH A DISABILITY: |
PVS and host clubs along with their Meet Directors are committed to the Inclusion Policy as adopted by the BOD. Athletes with a disability are welcomed and are asked to provide advance notice of desired accommodations to the Meet Director. The athlete (or the athlete’s coach) is also responsible for notifying the session referee of any disability prior to the competition. |
WARNING: |
Any club that enters an unregistered athlete, falsifies an entry in any way, or permits an unregistered coach to represent them will be fined the sum of $100.00 per violation. No further entries will be accepted from that Club until this fine is paid. |
SUPERVISION: |
Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their swimmers, and should help clean up their respective team area. |
WARM-UP: |
The prescribed Potomac Valley Swimming warm-up procedures and safety policies will be followed. The Meet Director will determine the structure of warm-up, including times and lane assignments. There will be lanes open for continuous warm up / warm down throughout the meet. |
AWARDS: |
Ribbons awarded for 1st - 8th place for individual events. Age groups will be combined when swimming, but separated when awarding ribbons. |
OFFICIALS: |
All certified officials who wish to volunteer should contact Angie Kotonias, at 301-395-1403 or via e-mail at akotonias@yahoo.com by November 8th. TIMERS: |
One timer (per club) is required for every 25 entries. Each club is required to submit the names of those timers who have agreed to time on the club master entry sheet. The number of timers will be adjusted when clubs provide other key officials. Acceptance of the Club entry is based upon compliance with the above. FAST will provide one timer per lane. |
ADMISSION: |
There is no admission charge. Meet programs for each session will be available for $2.00. |
FEES: |
Fees for individual events are $5.00. Each club is requested to remit one check to cover entry fees for the entire team. |
ENTRIES: |
Computer Disk Entries (Hy-Tek), must be accompanied by a Meet Entry Report by SWIMMER, and a Meet Entry Report by EVENT from Team Manager Optional: Before preparing your entries, events for this meet can be downloaded and then imported into team manager (go to team manager/file/import/meet events). The file will be available zipped as 12mm111806.zip (NOW POSTED). Club E-mail entries will be accepted provided the transmission time is prior to entry deadline and includes the above information. Clubs doing so should submit entries to FairlandSwim@comcast.net, in the subject heading type, "2006 FAST Qualifier ****" with the club's initials substituted in place of the asterisks. NO DECK ENTRIES will be accepted. The Meet Directors will not accept phone entries. |
Wednesday, November 8th, 2006. Important: The above date is the deadline for clubs to submit their entries to the Meet Director. Therefore, clubs usually set an earlier deadline to receive entries from their swimmers. Check with your club for this information. |
