Meet Purpose

To allow the top Age Group programs in the United States to compete in an actual Age Group Championship meet, in addition to the Virtual Club Championship.

Eligibility

Open to registered 14 and Under United States Swimming athletes from invited teams:  CGBD, CUBU, NOVA, RMSC

Swimmers will compete at the age attained on the first day of the meet.

Rules

Current United States Swimming rules will govern this meet.

Swimmers may compete in up to 4 individual events, and as many relays as are offered in their age group.

Up to four (4) swimmers per club per individual event (except 11&12yo 500 free, and 13&14 1000/1650 free – only 2 swimmers per club per event).

Two (2) relay teams per club per event for events 65 to 76.  One relay per club per event for the Crescendo relays (events 133 and 134).

Note:  Since the Crescendo 700 Yard Free Relay is not an event recognized by the USA Swimming database, the 50 lead-off split will only be recognized if a separate request to load the time is made.

All events are timed finals, and will be swum slowest to fastest.

Inclusion Policy for Swimmers with a Disability PVS and host clubs along with their Meet Directors are committed to the Inclusion Policy as adopted by the BOD.  Athletes with a disability are welcomed and are asked to provide advance notice of desired accommodations to the Meet Director.  The athlete (or the athlete's coach) is also responsible for notifying the session referee of any disability prior to the competition.

Seeding

All entries should be in short course yards (SCY) format.  Converted times are acceptable.

Scoring

Individual event scoring will be calculated by Power Points (the same values as those used in the Virtual Club Championships),  not by place.  A maximum of two swimmers per club per event will be scored.

Two (2) relay teams per club per event for events 65 to 76.  One relay per club per event for the Crescendo relays (events 133 and 134). Relays will be scored as follows:

1st – 800 points, 2nd – 700 points, 3rd - 650 points, 4th – 600 points, 5th – 550 points, 6th - 500 points, 7th - 450 points, 8th - 400 points.

Special Awards

Awards will be presented immediately following Session 5.

A banner will be presented to the 1st place team.

Plaques will be presented to the individual male and female with the outstanding performance of the meet (based on Power Points).

Warm-up

The prescribed Potomac Valley warm-up procedures and safety policies will be followed.  It may be necessary to assign lanes for warm-up.  Information regarding assigned warm-ups will be available the week prior to the meet in the form of an e-mail to each participating club.

Timers

Clubs will be responsible for providing their fair share of timers, and will be assigned lanes by the meet manager.

Officials

Certified officials who wish to work at this meet should contact Bill Maneely, at swim323@lycos.com.

Supervision

Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their swimmers, both at the meet and in the warm-up/warm-down area.  Inappropriate behavior will result in suspension from the meet and from the Germantown Indoor Swim Center.

Admission

There will be no admission charge.

An all-session program will be available for $5.00

Fees

Fees are $5.00 per individual event, and $10.00 per relay event

Warning

Any club that enters an unregistered athlete, falsifies an entry in any way, or permits an unregistered coach to represent them, will be fined the sum of $100.00, and no further entries will be accepted from the club until that fine is paid.
