Proposal to Require Teams to Have a Minimum Number of Certified Officials

 

At its 2007 Annual PVS House of Delegates meeting on May 23, 2007 the policy was modified as below for fine determination and assessment as of May 1, 2008

Registration and Participation Requirements

Teams with 1 - 25 swimmers No requirement
Teams with 26 - 50 swimmers 1 official
Teams with 51-75 swimmers 2 officials
Teams with 76 - 100 swimmers 3 officials
Per each additional 30 swimmers
(or portion of 30)
1 official

Penalties

For each official that a team is short           $200

For purposes of applying this test, registered USA-S athletes representing that school (or its affiliated USA-S Club) who have participated in NCAA competition during the current year shall be excluded from this computation for that school/affiliated Club.  (Modification approved by the Board of Directors on June 12, 2007.)


AS ADOPTED by the PVS Board of Directors -- June 14, 2006

MOVED:  That team members of PVS are required to have a minimum number of officials registered and certified with PVS.  Teams that fail to meet these standards during the fiscal year will incur financial penalties that must be paid before the team can participate in PVS sanctioned meets during the following fiscal year.   Fines will be determined and assessed as of May 1 each year, beginning in 2007.
