Special Note: The Eastern Zone at its September 2007 meeting agreed to defer awarding of any 2009 meets until its May, 2008 meeting. It did agree to set the dates for these meets with the exception of the 2009 LC "Supersectional Meet" Those dates are shown below: The zone did take a "straw vote" which indicated that it preferred to have its summer LC "Supersectional" meet be later than it has been historically. The currently preferred date is August 6-9, 2009.
The Zone at its September 2007 meeting also allowed parties planning to bid to host meets to announce their intent to do so. Those announced so far are:
March 12-15, 2009 -- Northern Region SC Sectional -- Blodgett Pool, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA (sponsored by Massachusetts Bay Marlins)
April 2-4, 2009 -- Eastern Zone Short Course Age Group Championships Rochester Webster facility (sponsored by Fairport Swimming)
Others parties interested in bidding for any of the five 2009 meets awarded by the Eastern Zone are urged to promptly advise the the Eastern Zone Webmaster of their intent so this information can be posted.
The Eastern Zone at its May 3, 2008 meeting awarded the above two meets as listed above. They were the sole bidders for those meets. It also awarded the Summer LC Supersectional Meet to STAR Swimming to be held in Buffalo, NY at Erie Community College. No bids have yet to be received for the the Southern Region SC Sectional to be held March 26-29, 2009 or the Eastern Zone Long Course Age Group Championships to be held August 12-15, 2009
