This postng is intended for PVS member clubs who are interested in
PVS is soliciting requests from PVS clubs to host PVS sponsored meets during the 2006 LC season. We are particularly interested in ALSO receiving requests from clubs that have not previously hosted these meets. The specific meets for which host clubs are sought are the PVS Distance Meet, PVS Senior/Age Group I and PVS SeniorAge Group II, as well as the PVS Senior, Junior and Age Group Championship Meets. The specific dates and locations for these meets are as follows:
The general procedures applicable to bidding to host a PVS sponsored meet are contained in PVS's Policy and Procedures at: http://www.pvswim.org/pol_proc.htm#c3
Please respond John Hirschmann at hirschj@erols.com by 5pm WEDNESDAY JANUARY 4 if you wish to apply to host any of these meets. When you do so, please be sure to clearly indicate any meet which you wish to designate as your "priority meet." For the PVS Senior I/II and PVS Age Group I/II, you may also indicate a venue preference. All requests should include the name, address, phone number and e-mail address of who will serve as Meet Director if you are awarded the meet. Please make sure to confirm their willingness to do so before submitting their name.
As provided for in our Policy and Procedures, all requests received will be reviewed by the Senior Chair, Age Group Chair and the two Coaches Representatives. Their recomendations will then be submitted to the PVS Board for award.
The Competition Committee is currently scheduled to meet early January 2006. This is their opportunity to review and endorse requests from PVS clubs to conduct club sponsored meets during both this summer's LC season and, if desired, next winter's SC season. Their recommendations will be considered by the PVS Board at a meeting which will be scheduled shortly thereafter..
Any requests you wish to make to seek the endorsement of the Competition Committee for you club sponsored meet should be submitted John Hirschmann at hirschj@erols.com by 5PM Wednesday, January 4.

That section addresses on what dates requests to conduct a club meet may be requested.
Please note that the policy calls for the following to be submitted:
"The draft meet announcement must contain the following information:
In addition, the host club must indicate the anticipated number of swimmers and event entries. Documentation that a venue is secured or available must also be provided."
If you are requesting sanctioning of a meet conducted in the previous year, reference to that meet announcement with all relevant changes noted will satisfy this requirement.

The dates of PVS sponsored meets during the 2006-07 SC season follows. (These dates were approved by the PVS Board at its meeting on November 16th. -- based on recommendations from the September 2005 Competition Committee meeting.)
Note; The dates for the October and November 2006 Open Meets may be subject to change once the Redskins schedule is announced in early April and its impact on the availability of PGS&LC can be determined.
