The PVS House of Delegates provides overall policy and direction to the PVS programs. It consists of the Board of Directors and a representative from each PVS Group Member and it meets annually in May to adopt plans, policies and the financial management of the corporation for the coming fiscal year, which runs from September 1 to August 31. The House of Delegates also elects the PVS officers.
BOARD OF DIRECTORSThe Board of Directors provides daily direction, policymaking, funding and coordination for all activities of Potomac Valley Swimming. It consists of the corporate officers: General Chairman, Administrative Vice Chairman (Secretary), Treasurer, Senior, Age Group, and Operations Vice Chairmen, the Strategic Planning Chairman, two Coaches Representatives, and two Athlete Representatives. Elected officers of PVS will serve for two years and may be consecutively re-elected to the same position once. There must be a lapse of at least one term before an individual may be elected to a position previously held for two successive terms. One each coach and athlete representative will be nominated for a two year term at the annual House of Delegates and elected by a vote of their peers prior to the start of the fiscal year. The immediate Past General Chairman and the Chairman of the Board of Review serve as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.
DIVISIONS AND COMMITTEESThe functions and responsibilities of the divisions and standing and special committees of Potomac Valley Swimming are detailed on the PVS Web page. In general, the divisions and committees are responsible for the planning, organization, and conduct of the Potomac Valley Swimming programs.
