Members present: Boots Hall Chairman, Jim Carey, Jim Garner, John Hirschmann, Ron Whalen, Sue Schwartz, Lynee Phelps, Jared Wisor, Art Davis, Dick Griffith and Rita Page.
The meeting convened at 7:10 pm at Martin Luther King, Jr. Swim Center.PVS SCY Championships: First half of the meeting was spent staffing the Short Course Championship meet. All key positions were filled.
New Members: Boots introduced the new members of the committee. They were given a warm welcome.
Recognition of Officials: Bill Stephens gave a report on various options for recognizing officials for their service. It was decided that Name Tags and Lanyards for all officials would be implemented now. Newly certifying Referees would receive a whistle at the completion of their check ride. New starters would receive a bell. Upon recertifying all officials would receive White collared shirts with the PVS logo. Also discussed briefcases for meet referees, but that was tabled for now.
Myron Lynch: Boots had spoken with Myron's wife (Naomi) to see about what PVS could do to honor Myron. A few ideas were discussed. Boots suggested a Swimposium.
JO's: Boots requested that committee members try to help out at JO's for Occaquan and said she would send out an email to committee members not present. Even though this is not a meet the committee would normally staff she had received a request for help.
