Decoding PVS Sanction Numbers

 
All meets sanctioned in PVS are issued a sanction number. The sanction number consists of three parts as shown below.

   PVX-YY-NNN

The YY is the competition year. For example competition year 09 began on Sep 1, 2008 and ends on Aug 31, 2009.

The NNN is a unique two or three digit number assigned by PVS

The PVX is a code indicating what type of meet has been sanctioned as follows:

PVS means it is a sanctioned meet sponsored by PVS
PVC means it is a sanctioned meet sponsored by a PVS club and open to all PVS clubs
PVI means it is sanctioned meet sponsored by a PVS club and only open to invited clubs (but 4 or more)
PVT means it is sanctioned meet sponsored by a PVS club and only open to three clubs (tri-meet)
PVD means it is sanctioned meet sponsored by a PVS club and only open to two clubs (dual -meet)

PVO means it is an Observed Meet
PVA means it is an Approved Meet

PVN means it is a National Championship meet held in out territory (last used in '03)
PVZ means it is Eastern Zone Meet held in our territory (used for Sectionals and Zone meets that the EZ awards)

PVV means a Virignia LSC meet held in our territory under the treaty
PVM means a Maryland LSC meet held in our territory under the treaty

PVK means a formal camp program that requires a sanction be issued
