Officials Committee
Homepage

Welcome to the USA Swimming Officials web page. The purpose of this section is to disseminate the wealth of educational material available so that every official will be better informed. The objective is fairness and consistency in officiating for all of our athletes regardless of their skill level. The intent of the Officials Committee is to continually supplement existing materials and add new items that are of interest. Refer to the links for specific topics and check regularly for updates and new information. Comments can be directed to Committee members any time.

Our goal is to offer the best officiating in the world. By everyone accepting and using the materials offered, we can carry our profession to the next level. If we believe in the philosophy of providing each athlete with the best opportunity to excel in each and every race and don't let differences of opinion, personal agendas, and egos interfere, we will not only become the best swimming officials in the world but the best officials PERIOD! The Officials Committee challenges everyone to commit to this philosophy so that we will never be the determining factor in the outcome of a competition.

Finally, without the hard work, expertise, and cooperation of Officials Committee members Pauline Hubbell and Dave Coleman, Communications Committee members' John Hirschmann and Adam Bridge, and USA Swimming staff members' Carol Burch, Charlie Snyder, and Bryan Barnett this section would not be possible. Many thanks for their efforts.

Pat Lunsford - Officials Committee Chairman
Pauline Hubbell and Joel Black - Vice Chairmen
