Anthony Ervin Clinic

Description of Event:
We will be conducting a one day clinic on Saturday, April 14 open to registered Potomac Valley Swimmers. The purpose of this event is to instill a vision of success and inspire all athletes to become leaders in the sport of swimming specifically here in PVS. The goals of the event is to empower athletes from from all populations and their coaches to:
- Demonstrate the viability of multicultural success in swimming.
- Achieve performance excellence at every level of the sport.
- Expound the benefits and value of participating in the sport of swimming.
- Assist in recruiting more swimmers and coaches from diverse ethnicity to the sport of swimming.
- Be positive leaders and role models that others from multicultural backgrounds can emulate.
The clinic will feature Olympic Gold Medalist Anthony Ervin.
Volunteers:
We will take 50 applications from registered PVS Athletes to participate in the one day camp program which includes pool training, motivational and education sessions and team-building activities. Selection is based on first come bases regardless of swimming level with the understanding they are able to swim one length across the pool unassisted.
Volunteers:
If athletes do not wish to participate in the swim clinic, but would like to volunteer and help, we trying to get volunteers from our PVS athletes so they can help with the learn to swim athletes in the clinic.
