Reported usage of PVS website has grown on a year to year basis from the sites official inception in November, 1997 through May, 2001. As the figures immediately above show, reported usage for the first five months of 2001 were well above the comparable months of 2000. PVS moved to a new webhosting service on June 1, 2001. Reported usage of the site since then has been significantly below reported activity for the comparable months of 2000. The new provider is using different site traffic measurement software. Repeat visits (Refresh/Update) from the same user are not being counted as an additional traffic in the new statistics. On average, approximately 1100 unique users have visited the website on an average day since June 1, 2001
The above figures do NOT include access to the searchable data base which is located on a separate server. This data base contains times from October 1, 1999 to date. As of January 16, the data base contained 302,806 times. The times come from 14,751 swimmer "names" who represent 189 clubs and 22 LSC's. Three other separate data bases for the 1996-97, 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons remain on line. An assessment is being made whether to continue to make these historical times available.
Because of its size, It is anticipated that the 1999-2000 times will be moved to a separate searchable data base shortly. The current searchable data bases will then just contain 2000-01 and 2001-02 times.
Meet Announcements (MA) have posted promptly (within 24 hours) throughout the year upon receipt of approved MA and receipt of sanction number from the PVS Administrative Office. Many MA's have been received later than has historically been the case, resulting in many inquiries to the Webmaster as to when they might be posted. Meet results continue to be posted promptly upon receipt.
The "Top 10 List" by Age Group used to advise swimmers of their status in qualifying for the PV EZ SC team has not been posted so far. This is because the updated Hy-Tek Team Manager software (which was initially requested last August) has still not been provided to the Webmaster.
